At the end of Week 6, the end of the year will be quickly upon us, so let’s grab the highlights of the past week and declare those imminent.
The school was certainly quieter this week. Year 8 were on camp, Year 10 were sitting exams, the final HSC exams were taken, and we held pupil free days for high school. We have been preparing for the change in academic years in Week 4 and are now ready to welcome our high school students into their new years on Monday, when Year 7 becomes Year 8, and so on.
As we farewell Week 3 of Term 2, the high school is preparing for the academic year changeover. In Week 4, the Year 10 students will sit their exams, Year 8 attend camp, and Years 9 and 7 complete their subjects in readiness for the new year. Thursday and Friday will be pupil free days for Years 7-10 as the staff sign off on the 2017 academic programs and prepare 2017-18. Then on Monday, 8th November, at the start of Week 5, all of the classes go up a year. Year 10 begin preparations for Year 11 senior study programs before formally commencing their new subjects in Week 6, with the new Year 12. There is no slowing down for us this term!
Week two of Term 4 has been a delightful week, with happy faces, lots of laughter and even some rain! The HSC exams are off to a good start, and we welcome Cath Walker back as our Presiding Officer for the second year running.
We began Week 5 with a walk around the school. All classes toured the rooms and observed the displays of work still on exhibit from our Open Day. It certainly demonstrated a wonderful progression of skill and ability. Deep satisfaction lingered from the success of the events of Saturday. Mel is yet to finalise the accounts from the Fair as we receive the last receipts, so we will let you know how we will let you know how we fared financially next week. All of the raffles have been drawn and Lisa Ferguson will publish the winners shortly.
